Disability Transition Officer - William Angliss Institute

Employment status: Full-time, fixed term until February 2028, $73,772 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation and annual leave loading

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and engaged Disability Transition Officer to create a seamless and positive experience for students with disability who are transitioning from secondary school into tertiary study at TAFE.

This pivotal position will provide first tier of personalised support services, improve outcomes of successful completion and preparedness for employment and assuring a genuinely inclusive study experience.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and support to secondary students with disability and their families/carers especially to assist in understanding the difference between secondary and TAFE learning environments.
  • Work with eligible students and their families and provide information and guidance with understanding their rights regarding reasonable adjustment and the process in a TAFE context.
  • Work with students and key stakeholders to develop a Transition plan for students with disability entering the TAFE system.
  • Arrange and facilitate transition support meetings with student.
  • Build and foster collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, networks and services.
  • Work with other William Angliss Institute student support units to establish an approach for transition support.
