Access and Disability Officer - William Angliss Institute

Employment status: Commencing salary $69,560 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation and annual leave loading. Full-time and ongoing opportunity

The Access and Disability Officer at William Angliss is a crucial role in coordinating student support arrangement processes to ensure teaching departments understand the requirements of students with a disability. The position empowers student independence and self-advocacy to encourage independent learning using a person centred approach.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide information, advice and guidance to students with disabilities.
  • Promote disability support services and facilities for enrolled and prospective students with disabilities within the Institute at open days and other relevant events.
  • Mentor, monitor and support the team of Education Access Workers.
  • Participate in various disability related projects.
  • Administer necessary supports and adjustments, including recommending, negotiating and/or organising/facilitating support services and adjustment, within budget constraints.
  • Rostering of Education Access Workers and Auslan Interpreter bookings, ensuring students are advised of the arrangements in a timely and coordinated manner.
  • Maintain accurate records and case notes.
