Take Charge of Change - Expressions of Interest

A photo of a young woman with long brown hair wearing a green shirt and black apron. She is using a brush to sculpt a clay cup. Orange and white text on a dark grey background to the right reads: “Take Charge of Change. A new CYDA co-design opportunity for disabled young people, parents, and caregivers.”

From starting school or a first job to accessing a new service, life is full of big changes.

CYDA’s new initiative, Take Charge of Change, aims to support the community to meet those key moments with confidence. But they need your input. They are looking for 40 young people with disability, parents, and caregivers to help co-design practical resources for their peers.

These resources will equip disabled young people and families with the tools and knowledge to thrive while also helping providers make their services more inclusive.

What’s involved?

Selected participants will join one of four co-design groups:

  • Parents and caregivers of children with disability aged 0 – 7
  • Parents and caregivers of children with disability aged 8 – 12
  • Young people with disability aged 13 – 17 and their parents/caregivers
  • Young people with disability aged 18 – 25

Each group will meet online six times between February and October 2025. The meetings will last two hours and participants will receive $100 for each session attended.

Are you ready to get creative to make a meaningful difference?

Applications close: Monday 27 January 2025
