Introducing 'Dyslexia: Insights into the hidden disability in and out of the workplace', written by Dr Shae Wissell. A compelling and deep dive into living and working with Dyslexia as an adult, based on several years of extensive research and personal experience. Unlike any other, expert Dr Shae Wissell has written a profound evidence-based book revealing the struggles, strengths and future hope for adults with dyslexia.
Join for light refreshments followed by the official opening and a leading discussion panel for an In Conversation session on dyslexia and other neurodivergent experienced in adulthood. Finally, Dr Shae Wissell will be available for book signing followed by further refreshments and networking.
Panel discussion:
- Dr Shae Wissell, author. Director of re:think dyslexia and founder of the Dear Dyslexic Foundation. Shae is a practising speech pathologist who works with young people and adults with dyslexia and other neurodivergence, supporting them in and out of the workplace. She is also a workplace advisor offering consulting and learning and development programs and training.
- Dr Judith Hudson, a chartered psychologist, assessor, author and researcher of special educational needs. Author and [retired] teacher of post-grad module, ‘Educating students with dyslexia and learning difficulties’. Board member of Square Pegs Dyslexia Support Group, Tasmania. A dyslexia Ambassador.
- Rufus Black, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Tasmania. Degrees in law, politics, economics, ethics, and theology from the University of Melbourne and Oxford University (Rhodes Scholar). President of Museums Victoria, Deputy Chancellor of Victoria University, Director of the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research and Board Member of the Committee for the Economic Development of Australia and Innovation Science Australia.
