The National Student Ombudsman (NSO)
The National Student Ombudsman (NSO) works with students and higher education providers to resolve complaints. They are a free, independent service who don’t take sides. The NSO was established in February 2025. They handle complaints on a range of issues, including: student safety and welfare, racism, gender-based violence, course administration, teaching provisions and facilities, disciplinary processes, reasonable adjustments. They provide accessible, safe and confidential services for all students, offering multiple channels for submitting a complaint, including an anonymous report option. Students can also contact them for information and advice, especially if they are unsure whether they want to make a complaint.
