New Guidelines Launched to Ensure Equal Access to Digital Goods and Services
This week, the Australian Human Rights Commission, in partnership with Intopia, unveiled the Guidelines on Equal Access to Digital Goods and Services
. These updated guidelines replace the 2014 World Wide Web Access: Disability Discrimination Act Advisory Note and reflect advancements in technology, updated national and international standards, and new policies.
The new guidelines aim to assist organizations in meeting their obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) by ensuring equal access to digital goods and services for all users, including people with disability. By adhering to these guidelines, organizations can avoid discrimination and create more inclusive digital experiences.
ADCET is proud to have contributed to the development and review of these guidelines as part of the expert advisory group, with Darren Britten of ADCET serving as one of the expert consultants. This collaboration underscores ADCET's commitment to fostering accessibility and equity in digital spaces.
