ASQA: Revised Standards update – draft Practice Guides released
Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) is developing Practice Guides to support providers’ understanding of our regulatory expectations against the revised Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), which come into full regulatory effect on 1 July 2025.
The Practice Guides are not prescriptive and offer:
- examples of actions providers might wish to consider and other relevant factors for demonstrating compliance with each Standard
- examples of known risks to quality outcomes
- self-assurance questions for RTOs to consider when measuring their performance against the revised Standards.
Practice Guides must be read alongside the relevant legislation to ensure regulatory obligations are fully met, and providers should also consider the policy intention of the revised Standards.
The Practice Guides have been published as drafts to provide the sector an opportunity for feedback ahead of the release of the final versions in April 2025. Feedback on the draft Practice Guides can now be submitted.
ASQA has updated the draft Practice Guides to align to the recently released legislative instruments and to incorporate some early feedback.
