The current COVID-19 situation is changing the way that we work. Many people are now required to study online from home. For many people this will be the first time that they have study from home for a prolonged period.
Studying online from home brings with it many challenges including:
- Feelings of isolation.
- Remaining motivated.
- Adapting to new technology and methods.
- Adapting material and meetings for online purposes.
- Ensuring access for people with a disability that require it.
- Learning new technology and platforms.
- Fear and anxiety caused by COVID-19
- Frustrations when connectivity impacts on productivity.
It is worth noting that lecturers and teaching staff may be experiencing similar feelings of anxiety and frustration as students might be feeling. For many of them online delivery will be a new experience and the COVID-19 issues will also be impacting on resilience. It is important that patience, flexibility and empathy are shown by all.

Headspace - COVID-19 Headspace provides information to support young people affected by stress related to COVID-19, including common reactions such as fear and anxiety, anger, frustration and confusion, sadness, and denial. They provide tips on how to deal with these feelings as well as a range of help services you can access.
