Pathways 14 - 2018
Theme: Progressive Partnerships – Inclusive, Innovative and Ingenuity
Pathways14 brought together disability practitioners, NDCOs and a range of other professional, academic staff and students with disability to identify and remove barriers for people with disability participating in post-secondary education and training.
Pathways provides a unique opportunity to improve our knowledge and plays a pivotal role in supporting practitioners and the sector in general with an opportunity for professional development. It encourages discussion and debate which informs the sector and ensures that we are all working towards an improved practice model.
Pathways14 theme centred around; Progressive Partnerships – Inclusive, Innovative and Ingenuity. The Pathways14 Conference will celebrate the 27th Anniversary of Pathways in Australia. Exploring the past 27 years enabled us to look back to the first Pathways Conference in Geelong in 1991, and explore Changes in the field of post-secondary education and training for people with disability and look forward to the Challenges and Choices of the future.
The conference brought different perspectives and rich diversity of experience and understanding from all that attend. We hope Pathways14 will allow colleagues from around Australia to come together to share and learn more about current practices in the area of post- secondary education and training for people with disability, to gain inspiration from others and to strengthen networks of friends and colleagues.
For the 2018 Pathways Conference ADCET was delighted to provide registration sponsorship to two people in the Disability Sector. They were David Healy a Teacher Consultant from TAFE NSW, Ultimo Campus and Celina Campas a Disability Advisor from Australian Catholic University, Strathfield Campus. David and Celina provided us with a few thoughts after the Conference.
