Information for students: making a complaint of disability discrimination
As a student with disability, you have the right to access and participate in education and training on the same basis as other students. ADCET has developed information for students who are considering making a complaint of disability discrimination.
While providers endeavour to meet their obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) and the Disability Standards for Education (DSE), things can go wrong.
All education and training providers have obligations to comply with the DDA and DSE by providing support services, inclusive learning environments and inclusive teaching practices. You should be able to discuss reasonable adjustments with your provider across all stages of your learning. You should also enjoy a learning environment free from harassment and discrimination.
We have created specific information on your rights, obligations of providers, and actions to take if you feel you have been unreasonably discriminated against by your education provider.
